Easily the best Zinfandel over the holidays was the deep ruby/purple '08 Hartford 'Highwire Vineyard' from the RRV. This full-bodied, well-balanced red showed concentrated floral berry, cocoa, licorice and pepper aromas. Utterly charming and velvety textured, it satisfied on every level possible. A 'tour de force'.

Dark red colors. Sweet high red notes combined with many spices that cut though the sweetness. Very smooth texture with a nice mouthfeel. Very tannic that will last for years. Buy and hold.
