2002 Hanzell Vineyards Sonoma Chardonnay. Fresh and still youthful straw/yellow color. Aromas were showing some advanced development, like ripe fruit, toasted almond, and baking spice. Flavors were ripe apples, touch of nuttyness, some toasty oak nuance. Touch of heat on finish. But all in all, good bottle.

Aging remarkably well. Yellow apple, lemon curd, round texture yet still holds a streak of minerality.

I take back every bad thing I've said about California Chardonnay. This was amazing. Balanced, complex, nuanced, every bit the equal of white burg.
