Haegelen-Jayer
Les Damodes Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir
January Wednesday Wine Committees are always a great as the red wines are required to be 11yrs old, making all of the reds 2008 vintage. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine were served today, all blind.
@Delectable Wine : This is the Haegelen-Jayer “Les Damodes” bottle. I didn’t see it in the database.
I guessed burgundy here, but this started out very Italian (Nebbiolo) like. Very tart red and black fruit with an iron finish. The fruit gained some density after a while and showed more ripe fruit in the middle along with some green/stemmy notes. Still young. Nice burg, @Weston Eidson
