G&M Machmer
Bechtheimer Stein Spätlese Gewürztraminer
Today I thought I would breakout a Gewurztraminer from Germany. The 2011 G&M Machmer Gewurztraminer.
The nose has lychee fruit, Ruby red grapefruit, peach, tangerine and honey.
On the palate are citrus notes, lychee fruit, pineapple, tangerine, and all spice.
There is a good body to this wine, medium acidity, and a higher level of residual sugar.
Just a bit sweeter than I like but would be good as an aperitif.
Nostrovia! 🍷🍷

Delicious, balanced Gewurtztraminer. As sweet as expected for a spatlese, but wonderful with a spicy Bangladeshi chicken korma. Great value.

Feb 20th, 2017Tasting notes: Honey, orange blossoms and crushed yellow apple, a slight hint of botrytis, and a pleasant balance of sweetness with the fading lychee fruit aromas, and a nice lemonade acidity to boot.
