Drank 3/21/20. Excellent with penne with sausage, mustard, and cream sauce.

I had originally had this wine from Magnum around 3 months ago, via Coravin. For whatever reason, it does seem to have improved a bit.

Scents of are now more reminiscent of nebbiolo, with characteristic rose petal and tar, accompanied by red cherry and a bit of petrol. Red cherry, earth, and spice are accompanied by leather notes and medium, well integrated tannins.

4/21/8/4/4 +50 = 91 pts.

Drank 12/30/19. Decent with a pork and red wine ragu.

Had this 2006 Magnum. Seemed like a nice opportunity to try the Coravin.

Nose initially showed notes of wild flowers and library book. The book notes blew off after around 30 min to show some red cherry. Flavors of red cherry and some spice notes. Medium tannins are well integrated at this stage. Medium finish. I dont see this improving at this stage, and may have already begun to decline in 750. I would drink now, but I will revisit via coravin in a few months.

3/21/7/4/3 +50 =89 pts.

In a super happy place right now - all dried cherry, raspberry, goji berry, rose petal, leather, liquorice, black tea leaves, cacao nib darkness, a subtle gloss of polished antique wood - super balanced - delicate - makes me want another

Tar, tar, dried rose petals, and a little more bark and tar.

Took a stretch in the decanter to not taste like microwaved tires, but one it got going, the tar and rose petals shot out of the glass and put a smile on my face.

Thin and mature. But hey, it had a sense of place.

Much more delicate than expected. Black tea dried fruits and something like potpurri. Silky on the palate. Not really what i was expecting but pleasantly surprised
