Solid wine here; a bit closed to begin with before opening up to reveal aromas of rusty nails, basil oil, wet roses, raspberry, dried cranberry, balsamic, leather, red liquorice and touch of brown spice. Quite approachable and tannins further resolved with some air time.

Young(er) vine Nebbiolo (2000). Gorgeous nose of wildflowers, violet and sage. Delicious palate with well managed tannin and a quick finish. For Barolo lovers on a budget.

Another cracking 2012 Langhe nebbiolo. Already cx aroma of wild berries, mineral and a touch of savoury meats. Generous attack, red berry melange, medium weight, nicely coated tannins in the crisp finish. Yum!

Lots of dried roses, thyme, brambly, wild berries, minerals and wet granite, good tannins, touch of black and bell pepper. Not particularly lush or rounded; young-ish with good acidity. From Town Center Wines, Eastham.

This was super. Tart cherry, rose petal, light sandalwood, very aromatic and opened up beautifully.

Brilliant garnet center with salmon edges. Bright luscious aromas of rose and violet, wild berries, and minerals. Some alcohol heat. Lots of ripe red berries and cherries on the palate - initially very juicy but the tannins quickly dry it out. Decently long finish. Very enjoyable with some spicy Italian sausage with tomato sauce - I'd love to try this with a couple more years of age to see it soften up a bit.
