Black red in colour, with an vivid & fresh aroma of allspice, black pepper, cedar wood, Kirch and ripe blueberries. The fruit a bit in the back yet still crunchy & fresh.
On the palate this shows nice depth & purity to the fruit. Juicy, zippy acidity adds freshness, just the tannins are a bit dry, esp. towards the finish. Not sure they will mellow. (13m oak aging a tad too long?).
Def. a food wine, matched the tuna steak beautifully.
