Crazy lean high acid red - I loved it, my dinner companions not so much.

Caiño, a red grape of Rias Baixas. Galicia

bleu cheese, big nose. funky but enjoyable wine. internet says $38, wine advocate gave 95 pts. had at press club wine bar in sf

Perfumed nose. Red fruit (strawberry) and peppery notes. Medium bodied, good freshness, fine tannins. Red fruit and some green pepper. Good acidity. Perfect with octopus

Super interesting. Reminiscent of a gamay with a beautiful nose. Medium high acid and a fairly thin unstructured body. Perfect for pork or duck.

This is a Galician (Rias Baixas) grape sometimes referred to as "Caíño Redondo", but not the same as the Espadeiro of Portugal that is made into a red Vinho Verde. Anyway it is damn good, kind of like Mencía, but also like a cross between a Bourgogne and a Tannat minus the big tannins. Really interesting.
