Wet wood with some bramble and twigs. Lots of really overrippened blackberries, combined with the density and heavy body gives it a distinct jamminess.

Had this 2 years ago, tasted new batch. Fonseca founded in 1822, successive generations of Guimaraens family upheld the Company’s reputation. Bin No. 27 was created over a century ago for family consumption, & only released commercially in 1972. Sits in large wood cats for 4 years. Rich texture, ripe fruit flavors of blackberry & cherry, smooth, good balance on lingering finish ending with a sweet fruit character & some spicy notes. Consistent quality y/o/y. Can be consumed over a few weeks. Tasting Sample.

Fonseca’s iconic reserve Port. Dark ruby color. Fresh fruit on the nose, cherries and some floral notes. Big, powerful on the palate. Fruit forward. Noticeable alcohol, but still very pleasant

Sweet to the palate porto and leaves a lingering sweet taste. Great as an after meal wine. If you let it breathe for a day or two, the heavy scent to the nose wares off.
