Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

Not a memorable wine. The oak is so strong that any fruit that could have existed cannot show itself. Possible fruits found include lemon, yellow mushed apple, pineapple. Oak profile includes: toasted brioche bun, hazelnut, flame kissed sugar. Short finish makes the wine hard to truly enjoy. Pair up with triscuit type crackers with Brie for a more complete experience.

This was one of the wines I purchased at 50% off from local grocery going out of business sale. I have heard good things about Chalk Hill Chardonnay so had to try. I broke out the Waterford Mondavi Chardonnay stemware. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, and vanilla. Getting a lot of oak initially but as the wine warms up the fruits aromas are really beginning to emerge. Love my chards at room temp. Golden straw in color with nice slow legs. Hopeful this will open up more on the fruit so I can rethink the score.

100% malolactic fermentation, so very rich, but balanced with some acidity..

Balanced with long somewhat mineral finish. Silly mouthfeel. Some hint of honey or perhaps apricot and nutmeg. Very pleasant
