Arneis
Top Notes For

I’m loving the amount of Arneis popping up around the country. If you haven’t come across this white Italian grape variety yet, this ‘little rascal’ (yes that’s literally what it means!) is crisp, dry and aromatic.

I’ve had some great Arneis from the likes of Vineyard 28 and Paul Nelson Wines in Western Australia, Holm Oak in Tasmania and Dal Zotto in Victoria’s King Valley.

And now I have another one to add to that list - introducing First Drop’s ‘Vivo’ 2019 Arneis from South Australia’s Adelaide Hills region. A big thanks to Good Pair Days for sending this sample bottle over 🙌

I also love the sound of Good Pair Days matching recipe for this wine - Ham & Cheese Bake - yum!

This wine is also #vegan 🌱 friendly.

In the glass the wine is fairly pale with a lemon tinge. On the nose it’s floral and herby with some peach and nectarine coming through. It really has a gorgeous smell to it, in fact I would love a bottle of it in perfume form 😂 In the mouth it’s a mix of sweet navel oranges 🍊 , nashi pear 🍐 , green apples 🍏 and lime. Smooth and crisp!

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
