Thick & rich blackberries, blueberries, black plum, irony dry minerals, sage, purple florals, melted dark chocolate with raspberries, evenly weighted white & black pepper, grilled meats, underbrush and a touch of Worcestershire sauce. Good balance and acidity. Long rich, smooth finish. Great pair with the Santa Maria spice chicken. The 05 is drinking around it's peak. Happily, DuMol still flys largely under the radar for a quality producer.

Funky, medium bodied and carrying the right amount of acidity to cradle the dark black fruits and black peppered cured meat tones.

Love DuMol wines, but more of a fan of their Pinot vs Syrah. These are elegant Rhône-style, balanced wines but slightly leaner than I was looking for when I opened this (super Sunday!). I hadn’t had one in 5-6yrs, so I’m thinking the 05 peaked at 8-12yrs & I’m just late to the party. Dense color & rich currant/cinnamon, but just a little lighter w/ a fast finish.
