Douloufakis Winery
Amphora Latiko
It’s hard for me to say if I like this or not. It’s a unique amber brick red and smells like sundried tomato paste. Chalky, dirty, like Carolina Clay. One can almost chew it. Has some moments of brilliance in the form of bruised strawberries and rose petals but it fades quickly and doesn’t linger.
Decanted for 20 hours to see if it would open, and it did a little bit, but overall I’d say it’s mostly disappointing.
