So damn good. Lemon curd and lemon oil filters through wet stones and pine resin.

As quintessential, flawless, understated a bottle of #Chardonnay as is possible to imagine... mineral-driven, gently-oaked, perfectly balanced. Drinks beautifully now but is destined to go at least another five years. #Meursault #Roulot #2010 #Burgundy #1erCru

I admit that this has been the most serious white burgundy so far in my experience. It showcases what a quintessential Meursault should be like, the opulence, the power and the extreme concentration. On the nose, it has characters of roasted peanuts (an Asian snack) with overwhelmingly toasty/smoky, hints of buttery, focused acidity and counterbalancing slight sweetness. The palate is equally impressed by extremely lively minerality, heavy body , tight texture and gradually evolving spice/toast and piercing acidity with everlasting finish (seriously it was there for minutes). It is probably still too young to drink but who cares. Big kudos to the big name
