Paired with abalone in masterstock, and I must say it was very apt. Despite hailing from Pommard, there's a sort of Asian element to this wine and the palate's robust enough to complement the deep, sweet stock. Quite powerful, but in no way inelegant. The nose was mind-bogglingly airy. Red pinot fruit, earth, spice, licorice, lots of minerality. Excellent concentration, palate-staining finish, rustic tannins. Despite how delicious this wine was, I feel needs time to gain some refinement.
