Showing richness, depth of vintage. However, once again, a Grey Market bottle from friend, which seemingly displayed more advanced character.

Came out of the bottle like an angry kid but later blossomed into a graceful creature--a great if still rather tannic wine!

1999 Volnay Taillepieds - lovely, but definitely oaky.

Such a treat. Easy and subtle. Well structured with blueberry fruit, good acid, and gentle tannins. Drinking well now, perhaps slightly cooked even though provenance of this bottle was very well vetted (Sotheby's).

Subtle earth and black fruit on the nose. Well balanced palate featuring sour cherry and a long finish. Delish!

Used the Coravin with great success on two different nights, but when I had the bottle on the third night it was oxidized. Seems like Coravin can be used effectively once but not twice?
