Nose is deep and tight with a nice core of mineral and big black cherries. Really needs an hour but it keeps revealing new nuance every 5 minutes. Likely due to the 100+ year old vines. Palate is juicy and so refreshing with wonderful purity but also you can tell it has great material but needs to come together with air. Terrific balance and length. Such a baby. Needs 5 years but a fun preview.

Look 👀 at my old note!!!! I questioned this wine. Burghs are tricky. Yet this one turned out quite simply great!!!!! Much more body than the Haisma a big wine from a top vineyard. Dark fruit components very dark cherries, plenty of tannins, astringent underripe peach, give it 4-5 more years. A benchmark wine.

A correction!!!! What happened? I needled this wine 🍷 Coravin. Then 4 weeks later i popped it and attached the bottle to my Argon house line - it’s changed! Last time it was a dud. 7.8.
Now dark berries still not overly complex - linear. Chalky with a touch of lavender. Black Tea. This might just need a ton of air and years to come around. Still compared to other 15 burgundies just OK.

Everyone tries to find the next big thing in burgundy but despite carrying the name of a great vineyard this is not it. There is no depth in this wine just basic cranberries and a chalky tartness. I doubt this will ever be special.
