Maybe coming around the bend. I paired this with braised chicken thighs in a cilantro/tomatillo marinade. Still seeming a bit hot and disjointed.

This need air. Then it still can't quite work out whether it wants to be Grenache juicy or Syrah spicy. Good enough just doesn't hit it for me.

Polar opposite of the Orleans of earlier. Garrigues on the nose, rosemary/oregano resiny aromas and a hint of black cherry. Noticeable alc in the nose and sweetness on the palate. Not as balanced /elegant as I remember for older vintages i've had in the past.

2017. Lots of dark fruit. Cherry and blackberry. Little bit of leather and vanilla. Not mind blowing but nice.

Some subtle honey in the background, or maybe that’s just because I’ve been having garrigues honey. Something about this didn’t quite seem right though.
