Holy crap. I pity those who drank this on release. Deep, ponderous nose. Cedar, juicy fruit, and still ample tannin. Killer, especially for the price.

Pulling from the dusty, hodgepodge section of the cellar tonight. Tribouley’s 2007 l’Alba is comprised of 60% Carignan and equal parts Grenache and Syrah from 35 to 70 year old vines in Latour de France village of Roussillon. Brett-tinged, with cranberry and wild raspberry, licorice, truffle, lavender, and underbrush, with fresh cracked pepper. Secondary notes of earth, tobacco, and olive, make up the gamy nuance that pervades the background. Killer juice.

This wine was not this good three years ago, but has really moved the needle in a good direction! Only one bottle left. Will pair well with a lot of things as it has some wonderful delicate nuances. I guess this one is a blend but seems to have Sarah as a primary varietal. I may need to check that out!! Great wine!
