Somewhat reduced upon opening, but after it blows off this wine shoes its stuff. My friends' blind guesses were Burgundy and Côtes de Provence. Pretty fun for a biodynamic 100% Syrah from Collioure in granite soil.

Really funky and barnyard-y out of the bottle, needed a little time to breathe. Lots of wild herbs and spicy notes, dry grass, then mint and violets. Chocolate undertones.

Paired with cassoulet of duck confit, garlic sausage, lardon, and lamb. Amazing depth of fruit, meat, long finish. Showing very well, decanted 4 hours. Tannins are well integrated. Drink now through 2018
