Darker reddish tawny. Big cherry nose. Earthy. Notes of bing cherry, rhubarb, red flowers, sandalwood and a little kirsch. Luscious fruit in the mouth. A little stemmy but the structure is soft and the fruit is bright. Gave it 6 hours of air and was nicely rewarded.

Aug 17th, 2019Tawny, amber rims, dark and almost opaque. Kaleidoscope nose, notes of rhubarb, earth, dried cherry, menthol, cranberry and plums. Awesome mouth feel right out of the gate. Rich fruit, but with a big spine. Long finish. This is really good now, but I'd be excited about where it goes in the next decade or two.

Didn't decanted it and that was a mistake. I took a while before opening. First, rather closed and barn like aromas, smelled older than his age. After an hour or so in the glass (Extreme Pinot XL). Strawberry jam, rather ripe red fruit on the nose, a touch of anise and cinnamon. Very perfumed and sexy. Feels like Barolo..... Beautiful palate, nice firm tannins. It's a serious bottling. Keep it for 5 years more
