Domaine A.-F. Gros (Anne & Francois Gros)
Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Bright tawny color. Looks great in the stem. Luscious nose. Bursting with fruit. Notes of tart bing cherry, sois bois, Asian spice, some rhubarb and an earthy menthol. Expansive in the mouth. Great balance of fruit and structure. Still young. In the zone. This is an answer to the question, “when is a great aged red burg better than anything else”

Nov 25th, 2019Tawny rims with reddish purple center. Deep and dark. Wild nose. Notes of Asian spice, violets, menthol, black cherry and earth. Aromatics are matched against rich fruit. With a few hours of air the body is intense and the finish is long. Great wine. .

Apr 8th, 2018Violet ruby color. Translucent with bricking rims. Amazing nose of exotic Vosne fruit, Asian spice, and some old burg funk. In the mouth it has the fruit and acidity nicely balanced, with some soil and terroir complexity prevalent. The finish is nice but a little thin and not necessarily long. It's the nose of this Grand Cru that carries the day.
