Undecided about this wine...Black strap molasses..black licorice...stewed dark fruit...dried cherries ...still overly hot on the midpalate..and throat..dusty tannins on the finish...I think I rated this higher previously...increased aeration time..the more disjointed it became.. maybe a bad bottle...

Two hour decant on this. Color of purple that fades from opaque in the middle..to tanslucent...ending with a clear thin rim. Very fruit forward..blackberry..cherry...vanilla... Fig...Graham cracker crust. Tannins are still Gripping..pretty hot on the midpalate. More aging potential for sure! Very nice Napa cab!

Big dark berry, if not chewy, offering. Big tannins and hint of tobacco. Apparently this vintage was to honor the mother of winemaker Gerhard. I would say he honored her well
