La Landonne Côte-Rôtie Syrah

Dark, angry, showing some structural stiffness for a bit. Unwound eventually, loved the dark and deep profile it has. The oak is a little pushy, but melted more into the wine after a couple hours. Smoke, roasted black cherry and cassis, forest, granite, beef, so much black pepper.

Dark, inky hue. Aromas of earthy, licorice, pepper, plum, pomegranate, rubber, tar, and tomato leaf. Full-bodied, with full tannins and plus acidity. Smooth, rounded finish.
