Delas Frères
Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage Syrah
Had some interesting moments but a bit disjointed. Peeling layers you hit nice fruit and flowers with the occasional astringent harsh dead tobacco leaf. Weird but with personality. Maybe a few years will help it come together. Drank over three nights.

Sep 23rd, 2020Given the awesome wine we had from Delas just a few days ago, we decided to pull another one out from the collection we had brought back from the Rhône valley during our visit in 2017. This one from the northern Rhône region. Crozes Hermitage. Not the top sub region on paper but we must have recognized something in it when tasting.... It was Awesome!!! Beautifully integrated tannins blended with soft spices and dark fruit of cherry, currant and fig. Loved it! Even more so because I got to drink most of it as Tammy is on a diet. I like her diet!! 😜

Jun 10th, 2020Not a standout Crozes-Hermitage, but very nice with lobster bisque.

May 2nd, 2020Earthy wine, pepper, leather, dried fruit. Astringent. Expected a bit more for a $45 bottle. Let it open. Not a favorite, but maybe it needed to be had with food
