Wow. Just a stunning wine. Begins as a ripe fruit forward wine with a beautiful vanilla, sweet corn on the cob finish. gradually transforms into a wine indicative of Lirac. Strong wet rock, monstrous spice, dirt and earth and mushroom and garrigue. A beautiful example of aged wine's potential.

Great evolution as a classic CdP over the course of several hours. From dry, tannic and musky at the open to minerals and beef later and more and more super ripe, jammy fruit emerging toward the end. The tannins were firm but fair and the acid still sharp, making me think there was still room for development even after 20 years.

This bottle is smokin' right now. And was the alpha dog in a lineup of straight killahs: fennel, basil, cured meat to go with pepper and cherry on the nose. Every sniff something new. CdP at its best
