Our host sort of snuck this into the mix, without fan-fair, during an evening of very lovely wines. Apparently a VdT without a clear and obvious vintage statement. This was Exhibit A for proof that great wines don’t need a vintage date when the juice is this good. Beautiful ruby color with a dark core. Everything on the nose and the palate were in the right place and this immediately took me back to my experiences in Toscano where I drank “generic” jug wine at a random trattoria that was made by the family and I wanted for nothing. I desperately wish more wines like this were in my life.
