NZ is not just for Pinot and SB. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Typical bdx style black currant and cherry with a minty note and under lying minerality.

Craggy Range established in 1997, situated in the shadow of the Te Mata Peak premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Dark Ruby with black fruit aromas with sweet spice notes. This 5 grape blend of 63% Merlot, 14% Cab Franc, 18% Cab Sauv, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec shows blackberry & a plum flavors with cedar & vanilla. Fine soft Tannins, rich and complex on a lingering finish. Great value, but screw cap so drink now as I am learning screw caps do not allow proper bottle age!! Tasting Sample!

Deep ruby, spicy plum, dry, gentle tannins, blackcurrant with cinnamon notes, very approachable and satisfying.
A Merlot dominant blend from the special Gimblett Gravels Vineyard in Hawkes Bay.

Feels safe and conjured. Nothing at all wrong with the wine, but no fireworks here.
