Eaglepoint Ranch Mendoza County Syrah

Enjoyable early effort from Copain (1999 was the first vintage). Aging well despite the riper style of the early vintages.

Still going strong. A bit of sulfur on the nose that faded with air, backed by dark fruit and all kinds of savory. And that old Copain font!

Meat, pepper, olive, dark fruit. Just a hint of fine tannin. This has aged incredibly well and is at peak. Well done, Wells!

Textbook quality.

Steve, buy this stuff. Tastes good when you put it in your face hole.

Finishing off the last of my birthday wine from last night. A beautifully aged Syrah with good freshness still. Nicely balanced.

Gorgeous salted plum aromas. Full but lifted mid palate. Has aged well.

Still a great core of acidity after all these years. Very savory cool climate profile. Totally my thing.
