This is a nice surprise. Not my usual drinker, but this fit me just right.

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Nice nose of cherries, plums, strawberries, red currants, cedar, metals, vanilla, licorice, cloves, anise, green pepper, herbs, vegetables, peppercorn and pencil lead.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Earthy on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, bell pepper, forest floor and bitter herbs.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins, yet grippy, and tart pomegranates.

An enjoyable, 8 year old, Spanish Cabernet. Nicely balanced now, with a bitter ending and a nice mouthfeel.

Needs 2 hours to open up.

I paired it with a nice plate of cheeses, olives and nuts.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
