Big brambling black wine for stage 7 of #tourdefrance as it rolled through Cahors. Not my favorite style but with character.

Great earth and graphite pencil flavored. Smells a little like paper and under ripe plums. Nice coffee and berry/ cherry notes with medium tannin. Crazy value.

Kermit comes through as usual. Great with some skirt steak chimichurri. Decanted for 30 mins.

Recommend this wine. Definitely decant for about an hour or so. Just as good the second time around

acidity and earth are there though the appeal is the fleshy and round dark fruit.

Ruby color, medium intensity, garnet tones on meniscus. Nose: dried fruits, savory herbs. Palate: dried figs, dried apricot, blueberry, leather. Moderate tannins, pretty tight, some tartness. Not too much in terms of finish.
