Cahors Merlot

Have had this wine numerous times but trying it at 18 was a #realwow. Still fresh; not fading. #Cahors

Funny and meaty underneath some dark fruit flavors. Fully evolved, fun but maybe not compelling.

Drinking very young and well above its pay grade

A 17 y o cahors that cost like twenty two bucks? hell yes.

Unfortunately past its prime. OK on night one with some decant but gone past that to a land of unbalanced acid.

Ripe blackberry, herbs, hints of leather, very smooth and medium-light with ripe red and black fruits. First experience with any aged Malbec, let alone Cahors. Worth cellaring a few given great qpr.

Oxidised, but will retaste soon.

Black raspberry and tarragon, still has quite a bit of aging potential ahead of it.
