Few wines stop me cold. I've been fortunate to taste many of the best. And I've had other years of Clos du Val. This bottle os 1997 was one of those at its peak and at the right time experiences that got me. Powerful for a restained winery. I'm on to the 3rd hour now and am still excited. It was perfect with lamb osso bucco. So was it before and now after. Hard to say more than wow. Wish I had more.

classic. I have always like Clos du Val, while never a huge critic fav, to me I love the balance. Glad to have drank this 1997 on 12/25/15.

Best wine I've ever had. Still as awesome in 2013 as it was in 2001 in Seattle. In 2013, there is fruit and spice, cinnamon and black pepper, earth and oak. Truly awesome.
