My favorite Howell Mountain producer. Bar none. Several can make very good cabernet. But even fewer can do it year by year. I can name about 7 or 8, but this one is always first. Winemaker Mia Klein does a great job with these grapes that are estate produced. Powerful blackberry fruit core and hint of vanilla. Herb, black pepper, hint of nutmeg and allspice. Great finish....quite tannic and still ridiculously young. This hails from the ponente vineyard, which gets the hotter afternoon sun. Therefore these wines are always a little more powerful when taste it alongside their Levante counterparts.
