Had my chef buddies over for a reboot of my Decanting Sessions. I figured this would be a nice treat since it's so unusual. Besides, it's been about 18 months since my last bottle so I wanted to check in with its development. Decanted several hours ahead of time. Deep, impenetrable purplish-red color. An impressive bouquet; a combination of blue and dark fruits with bacon, lavender, smoke and spices. On the palate, an abundance of blue fruits, cassis, meat and baking spices. This is a glossy, compelling and unusual (but delicious) non-vintage wine. Full bodied. Tannin seems to be integrating nicely. Good acidity. The finish is long; tongue smacking! The ABV is remarkably well hidden. Many years of life ahead of these. I really like this wine for what it is and wouldn't mind seeing him make it again if the circumstances permit him to do so.

Interesting comparison between the Fulldraw and Tynan wine. Both were opened about 2hrs. The flavor profile is somewhat similar between the two, showing chocolate and dark blue fruit for the Tynan and red fruit for the Fulldraw. Great spice and pepper with each. The main difference is with the tannins and finish. The tannins on the Tynan are fairly noticeable (in addition to some heat) while the Hard Point’s are already integrated. The Tynan’s finish is short compared to the Fulldraw and so I’m rating it a few points lower. Still a great wine imo, especially for the price

My allocation just came off the truck and it was Friday and we were having pizza so I was like, let’s pull the cork on one these and see what it’s all about. Turns out, this is really quite the quaffer though, it is a touch hot. The amount of blue and back fruits and good structure does a decent job of masking the 15.2% ABV but not completely. This was served a bit cold and since it was literally pulled out of the box from UPS, I don’t think it’s fair to score just yet but I’m so far impressed by his NV wine from Tynan and looking forward to trying another later this holiday season.

new non vintage blend.
Not bad for $35.00 and just off the truck.
I don’t feel like a Sucrier for buying some, probably won’t buy it again though.
48% 2015 Cabernet from Napa
52% 2016 Syrah from Bennet valley
