A brilliant wine. A complex wine. But also a young wine. Like a Loire 1st Growth. Needs 5-6 years. But amazing. And yes amazing in 2014. Can’t imagine 2015. Well yes I can. Anyway, deep nose, ethereal nose, woodland berry, forest, lord of the rings deep thicket forest, spice, herbaceous, tobacco, mineral, so so so deep, so so 1st growth Bordeaux but oddly more left than right bank even tho it’s Cab Franc. Superb but in 5-6 years watch out this will wreck Bordeaux 5-6-7 times more expensive than it. Amazing depth. It’s a substantial wine, with unreal fruit density and small berry fruit intensity and superb balance and length. Blackberry fruit that is so well defined and so vivid. Incredible minerality on the finish. Big structure but also amazing elegant and toothsome tannins. Masterful tannins that master the vintage. The blackberry fruit and minerality just coats your palate and does not quit. Easily best 2014 red Loire I’ve tasted. Brilliant wine.
