I thought I would try another rose tonight. This rose is from the foot of Mt. Ventoux and if you are familiar with the Tour de France you know exactly where Mt. Ventoux is in France. I couldn't resist picking this up from my store of choice because the Tour de France is one of my favorite sporting events. The color is an ausome pink. On the nose I get strawberry, red raspberry, red currants, bubble gum and minerality. This rose comes across on the palate with white peach, strawberry, red raspberries and the minerality continues. This is a medium bodied wine with light acidity. The blend is 50% Cinsault - 40% Grenache - 10% Syrah. Another nice rose for $12 Bones.

On a rainy and cold Chicago January Friday, I felt like rosé would inject some sunshine into the evening. I was right! 2013 still shining bright, with lots of cherry pit and strawberry compote. The Chaudieres are wonderful people and so are their wines.
