Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

Provenance is everything. Wonderful bottle with the floral elegant nose you expect from mature Margaux. In company was the wine direct of Alain ducasse in Monaco who said he'd never had as good a bottle of this in France! From a cellar where it never moved for 35 years. Really lovely surprise.

In good condition but never really sung over it's five hours open. More herbs and flowers than tobacco.

Graceful and polished Margaux, structure was beautifully balanced. An incredible treat.

Lovely effort in a challenging vintage. Great complexity and long finish.

Upon opening in was bitter but 30 minutes in the decanter and it was fantastic. Still had strong tannins. This was not done yet by any means. Spectacular tobacco and leather noted

Double mag. A bit thin on fruit. Old tobacco leaf. Short finish. Good but past prime. Storage probably a factor since others are showing better.

Magnum lunch

Fantastic wine. opened beautifully. Amazing fine tannins. Lucky to share a great bottle with the extended family.

Lost its fruit after 45min.
