Insert the usual refrain about how Bdx blanc doesn’t get enough props. This had really nice cut with lemon, tangerine, lychee, dried grass and a nice dollop of vanilla bean and butter on the back

Excellent Graves. Must get more. Pitch-black profile, with piercingly deep blackberry fruit and the classic Graves scorched character manifesting itself in a savory element reminiscent of the charcoal sear on a dry-aged steak. There is also a nice clenching grip of bell pepper giving it an old-style cabernet feel even though the fruit is anything but austere. I really like the style of this - classic structure but with an intense, deep expression. Even the dried drips of wine on the label are a deep purple/black.

Classic angular, hint of green peppers, refreshing Bordeaux.

Really a nice fairly classic red Bordeaux from a somewhat unheralded year. With a proper decent and chill this is nice, paired with steak diane on Valentine’s Day. I’d classify this as quite traditional but having a bit more fruit than you might expect. Nice balance but not improved from the bottle a year ago. Smidge more acid would help. Decanted 2 hours after opening the bottle in the morning.

We had the 2012 Vintage on 10/7-8/22. Blueberry, cassis and an earthiness on the palate. Medium bodied and Old World. The tannins were smoothed out but not a velvety texture. Just a fair wine. The 94 rating is generous.

Excellent and relatively classic Bordeaux from Pessac. Last had this nearly 5 years ago - the age has been good to this. In a pretty good place, though I’ll keep a couple bottles to see how it develops. Meaningful tannins, great fruit, good acid. Perfect with the platter of steaks and lamb chops in the background :)
