Château Le Grand Faurie
St. Émilion Grand Cru
Not complex. Easy drinking Merlot forward red. Considering lacking acid it’s holding up well.

Aug 29th, 2020Strolled into Trader Joe’s; the shelf was stocked with this. Couldn’t believe it. Picked up another half case. This is a phenomenal bordeaux and one of the best QPRs around. Haven’t tasted in a year and it’s just as memorable. Lots of great mushroom and sweaty gym socks with a dusty, tannic finish. Perfect example of a phenomenal wine at sub-$20 that drinks at 3-4x the price.

Dec 16th, 2018Slightly different but just as solid as the 2009, which was dynamite and one of my wines of the year! My only question is what happened to the ‘10 and ‘11??? Never saw them!
Soft and supple, exhibiting black cherries, mushroom, and clay. Medium-bodied, with a long, dusty finish that brings it all together. $18 at Trader Joe’s. Case alert!
