Deep scarlet color, almost opaque. Sweet fruit nose. Notes of red and black fruit, spice, some wood and moist dark earth. Has great complexity in the mouth. Awesome juice, but this bottle of the 61 did not reach the superlative heights of others we've had of this.

Day 2 of WineBoyz Wineapalooza. Tasted blind. Deep, dark reddish amber color with clear rims. Big, rich and heavy in the glass. Notes of black cherry, cracked walnuts, mocha, cranberries and cherries. Great structure and energy. The walnuts descriptor leads me to guess this spot on as the 61 Latour. Not at the some stratosphere level of the last bottle or two of this that we've had, but I'm splitting hairs. This is an awesome, immortal bottle of juice.

Not tasted blind... it's the only 61 first growth left to be served so it isn't even brown-bagged and we all know it's coming. Dark reddish tawny color. Notes of plums, pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, roses, fresh cut wood, spice, clay soil and some walnuts. Massive core of fruit and structure in the mouth. Amazing perfume, it's an ethereal experience and 9 hours after open/decant it's still improving and delivering more complexity and enjoyment. This bottle could easily go another 60 years... an all-time great wine! (M's 60th bday 13th of 14)

From magnum. Wow. What a nose- deep and slightly sour and soft leather. Gorgeously broad and complex. Faded roses on the edges but a hefty, complex, subtle core. Wonderful. What a treat. Thank you to Bruce Abbott- so generous

Tasted blind. Purple tawny. Notes of dark fruit, crushed walnuts, black cherry, pencil lead, earth and some plum. Rich and round in the mouth. Comes across as young. Steady power in each sip all night. Rich round and chewy. Guessed this bottle as well. Thought young Latour but talked myself into this being the 61. Bam. Thks Stan!

Beautiful fruit. Dark and soft fruit with a hint of iodine, broad spice and lovely deep purple midpalate. Lush but perfectly resolved. Rounded and supple, velvety and sexy. Gorgeous stuff.

In a great spot to drink right now. Fully resolved and in a holding pattern. Great stuff.
