2009 vintage. No better way than opening a bottle of aged Château Gros Moulin to show how underrated Côtes de Bourg can be. This has elegance and it has a very vibrant youthful energy. Impeccably balanced with bright red fruit, amazing freshness, subtle spices and very good length. If the mind-blowing 1970 is a good indication, this might need another 30 years. Fantastic value!

Vintage 2005 - still evolving, on it's way to beautiful tertiary tones of a developed wine. I love this reliable Côtes de Bourg. Dutch bottling Berger Roermond.

Vintage 2005 - Dutch bottling by Wim Berger Ruremonde. Still too young, it's a great year but it takes time before Gros Moulin reveals its qualities. Cherries in the smell, burned sugar. Still tannic after all those years... Lovely 'petit' Bordeaux, one of my favorites

Vintage 2005 - tobacco, leather, the smell of a farm, needs aeration, but is less compared to 2009
