Smoke, bacon fat, peppercorns and olive, crushed violet, crushed blackberry and plum skin. Dominated by sweet smoke and hung meat, gorgeous nose. Palate is just now starting to unwind, tannins are elegant but a little unyielding, needs food to shine. Palate is full of fruit, there’s just enough polish and extract to make this very pleasurable. This wine wears the ‘10 vintage well, no need to pop these soon IMO.

Absolutely delicious traditional Cote rotie, yes a big vintage but with an hour or two of air it’s actually accessible. Violets and purple berries up front with game, olive and dried herbs, plush texture and the tannins start to really creep in towards the end signaling this may be about to shut down for a while.

2013 vintage. Very structure-dominated with lots of gritty, stem-influenced texture. Spruce resin, lingonberry, pomegranate, blackberry, blueberry, tarragon, lavender, cedar, rocks, dried leaves, black tea. Lots going on here, and all evidence points to a long life ahead.

Classic, cool Côte-Rôtie flavor, showing that Saint Cosme's abilities beyond its home of the Gigondas. Raspberry, pomegranate, pepper and citrus peel.

Now we're too young. Needs tome to flesh out. Tannic but also fruity and earthy at the same time. Needs some age to come into balance but will be great in time.

Deep red fruit, savory game and tons of spice on the nose. Perfect medium body balanced with sharp, tart red fruit, and a finish of cured meat. Very complex and extremely lively on the palate.

Tart acidity, lean on the palate, showing its age nicely. Peppery, slightly savory notes, dusty cherry.

This is why I love Northern Rhone Syrah, this is bonkers good and so young but showing very well. As good as it is now I see it getting even better in 7-10+ years as time chips away and starts to impart more space in the layers.of complexity that ring this wines personality.

Dark red currants, blackberry, mother rock granite, piquant meat, smoke, and charcoal embers. Perfect structure, ripe and firm tannin and great acidity. Ferral, wild and unhinged this is what drinking great wine is all about!

Loved the 2002 and now loving the 2009. Consistent. Earthy nose, smooth, berry finish. Great with mushroom bruschetta.
