Yves vatelot killed the 01 vintage. 00-01 are, I think his most amazing wines. This one is standing tall even out of half bottle. It’s insane how much money he invested in these vintages vs what they cost. Really remarkable stuff that plays with all the big boys. In 2008 he put this up against 01 pichon lalande and 01 latour at dinner. Blind, this was right there with the big boys. Insane!

Apr 23rd, 2021Holy crap, this is dark and modern. Hanging tight and actually rocking. I remember this with with the owner Yves over a decade ago and he tasted it next to first growths. Held its own then, holds its own now

Surprisingly great Bordeaux Superieur with sale sticker 18, unsure where (GL?) from and only bottle. 13ABV 75-25 Merlot-Cab 171k bottles produced. Very enticing fresh plummy red fruited nose with lift and lively texture with little sense of oak heaviness and finishes long. Nice with first try at Peruvian pork by ML. Yum.
