2020 vintage. Another great effort from this Château. Already easy drinking. A lot of sweet fruit, smooth with a nice ripe tannic bite, freshness and good length. Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 16%, Cabernet Sauvignon 9%, Carmenère 2% and Noir de Pressac (aka Malbec) 2%. Abv. 14,5%. Hubert de Boüard consults.Don't know if it will make old bones ( a 2008 recently tasted was totally over the hill).

On the nose, dried flowers, pepper, mint, blackberry, cola, cedar, with a hint of black licorice and or meat. Perhaps one of the most complex bouquets I've experienced in months. The black fruit, cola, mint carry through to the plate. Nicely balanced, medium plus alcohol, medium acidity, dry, medium body. Long finish, smooth tannins. This wine is certainly a pop n pour, but can also improve a bit more with time

2018 vintage. Merlot 71%, Cabernet Franc 16%, Cabernet Sauvignon 9%, Carmenère 2%and Noir de Pressac (Malbec) 2%. The 2009 tasted yesterday was very good but I believe this 2018 is even better. Very attractive nose with red and black fruit mixed with complex spices jumping out of the glass. Layered and intense with an impressive finish. Terrific value too. Abv. 14,5 %.

2009 vintage. Merlot 72%, Cabernet Franc 14%, Cabernet Sauvignon 12%, Carmenère 2%, Malbec 1%. Apparently the only estate in Bordeaux that uses the 5 grape varieties. Deep colour. Still very young. Very good indeed.

Raspberry and almond, this is a mid to light weight wine that is speaking in its elegance. Understated but delicious

Nice earthiness and terroir depth. Classic nose, good mouth feel and moderately long finish.

Dark with an inner sweetness. Red on finish. Good grip. Certainly gives the impression that this could have long legs in the cellar.

Saint Emilion grand cru; 2004; now mature, about two years past peak if tannins are telling us; powdery, drying a little; Chateau de Pressac is a good performer #bordeaux #rightbank

Stands out in a crowed sea of Bordeaux. Comes across a bit fleshy, currant preserves, smoked blackberry and hot licorice fill the nose. Earthy and sappy core, meats and mushroom fill the palate. Velvety tannins hold well making for a spiced finish.
