2018 vintage. This fairytale Château is owned by insurance company Groupama who brought in renowned consultant Stéphane Derononcourt in 2014. Not sure about the exact blend of this vintage, probably mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a bit of Cabernet Franc. This wine starts to shine already after 10 minutes in the glass. The perfume is very fresh (especially considering the warm vintage) and flowery. In the mouth it is very elegant, with juicy cassis, soft tannin and very good length. If you are looking for a blockbuster this is not your wine, if you fancy Margaux-like finesse it's well worth your 16 euros. Very moderate alcohol for the vintage (13 % abv.).

Halfway between Bordeaux and Margaux lies this fairytale castle that produces this wine with around 50:50 CS/Merl. It is dense and dark in color, dark mulberry, black currants, oak, hints of leather, forest and mushrooms, and some volatility on the nose; rich full black fruits dominate the taste and is accompanied by high acids, dry fine tannins and a long finish with liquorice and chocolate. The wine feels like 14-14.5 % in alcohol but is listed as 13. Great value at 24 USD.
