From Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux, France. Pale lemon color with aromas of tropical and citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of mango and citrus with slight herbs, vivid acidity, dry. Medium finish ending with fruit and citrus herb character. Drink now!

No idea why it says Chateau Cantebau, so to put things straight , this is about the white Château Coucheroy, Pessac-Léognan, owned by André Lurton family, with his son Jacques Lurton in charge. 100% Sauvignon blanc with a bit of barrel ageing. Not very complex, but true to type and good value at 11,9 euro.

2016 vintage. Lovely French white! Great with smoked salmon dip.

Vintage 2015 - true to type sauvignon blanc with a smell with buxus and jasmin. Citrus in taste with prominent bitters. Drunk this with Chinese sautéed paprika filled with meat. #sauvignonblanc #pessacleognan

It is so interesting to see how differently the same grape tastes based on its location. We regularly drink Kim Crawford Savignon Blanc which is a traditional New Zealand SB but after trying a fantastic White Bordeaux at a restaurant I had to seek out another to see if the region was a big influence (and it is). It's funny because I'm not a fan of red bordeaux though I really like California CS/Merit blends.

High acid. Lots of lemon with melon, grassy notes, stone, flint. Crisp. Would pair well with another high acid food.
