Pale burgundy with bricking notes prominent in the color, it definitely shows parts of its 10 years of age. The nose is refined, perfumed fruit, with some crunchy notes and crushed slate/graphite. There’s musty notes, but more fruit than forest floor, and not a lot of age in the nose. Palate shows more of the age, with some velvet, silky, woody elements and well integrated fruit and notes of charcoal, mushroomy earth, and a hit of balsamic. The fruit lasts for a long time, and the energy is still zipping, with a slightly minty freshness at the finish.
