Mountain Cuvée Proprietor's Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Thanks to my brother Woody for turning me on to his friends the Cappellet's and their very excellent wine. This one is (as all their cabs are) is complex, great up front but with a terrific finish and well..damn good. I'm not going to go all Robert Parker on the description but the high concentration of Merlot softens the tannins and makes the fruit and leather come through slowly but really well. As I write I'm neglecting a very attractive brunette who's seriously reconsidering her choice of dinner companion due to my enthusiasm for the Chappellet Mountain Cuvée but hey..good wine cannot be ignored. Not apparently can she. So I'm making the right choice and ending the rating.

Created for Disney, this fittingly shows a bit of magic. Black currant, blackberry, prominent anise w/ vanillin. Really delivers without overwhelming- spice box and anise on the palate rather than a fruit bomb. Impressive!

You know what? It's pretty darn good! Got black plummy cherries. Lil boysenberry, spice, touch of acid. Not over the top. Let's go royals!

Great mixture of fruit flavors. Light oak and cherry aroma. Decent tannins and medium finish.

So soft and smooth. Eucalyptus notes and a nice bakers chocolate finish.

Chapp mtn cuvee is always a solid qpr on a restaurant wine list.

Great wine from a great family. Cyril and Blakesley keeping Donn and Molly's legacy alive and thriving!

A great wine to toast a friend. I was reminded of incredible Chappellet tasting at 2014 TexSom.

Enjoy Chappelet's higher end juice, but this one isn't quite working for me. Was surprised to learn that the '12 has 6 different grape varietals in it

Very nicely made. Good red fruits & cab complexity on nose followed up by a brilliantly bright palate with depth, acidity & grippy tannins. Long finish. Good #California #cabernetsauvignon blend.
