A lovely example of Brunello. Near complete, seductive, floral yet rich and balanced.

Stunning for its finesse contrasted by remarkable elegance, the 2010 Cerbaiona provides a bouquet of lifted red fruits, exotic spice, provincial herbs, and pretty red floral tones. The textures were silky and refined, hovering on the palate, with notes of fresh savory herbs, green olive, and ripe black cherry, which seemed to swing back and forth from sweet to savory. A coating of fine tannin saturated the senses with hints of cherry and herbs on the long finish.

A near-perfect wine carrying loads of pure Sangiovese fruit, perhaps riper than usual, but still elegant and with great drive on the expansive, yet elegant finish. Drinking surprisingly well already but with more dimensions in reserve.

For the price it didn’t meet expectations. Light and clean on the palette. Perfect for thanksgiving nonetheless.

Classic. Intensely piney, brambly, sappy and herbal on the nose, which mixes on the palate as a gorgeous explosion of cedary tannins mingling with dry blackberry, asphalt and petrol on the palate. Opens up with blackberry jam, fresh cut sage, citrus pith, and crushed stones. Serious wine for serious men.
